Why I Chose Vue Over React (and Maybe You Should Too)
Daniel Kelly of Vue School explains that after finding React’s learning curve steep and its mental model unintuitive, he tried Vue, a framework he’d first heard about at a Laracon talk by Evan You, and was building working components within hours. He gives several reasons for preferring it. Vue’s reactivity is intuitive, since you update state and the UI follows. Single-file components keep templates, logic and styles together without JSX. New developers ramp up faster. The ecosystem is cohesive, with official tools like Pinia, Vue Router, Vite, VueUse and Nuxt. Developers who use Vue tend to stay with it, with 87% saying they’d use it again versus 75% for React in the State of JS 2024 survey. Established companies such as GitLab, Behance and n8n use it. He also credits Vue’s friendly, community-driven feel. He stresses that React isn’t wrong, but Vue simply felt right and made frontend work more enjoyable.
